Within Escape, there was a godlike figure called the King who came upon the earth and took over humanity, nearly wiping it out and trapping the remnants in an inescapable, dystopian city called the Dome. The King ruled the Dome for 300 years, with the people being split into a massive hierarchy where a set of people called the Nobles (People who pledged their loyalty to the King and received money and power for it) were the most powerful while everyone else struggled to have anything.
