Road 96 is a political road-drama set in the authoritarian nation of Petria during the summer of 1996. Each episode follows runaway teenagers attempting to reach the nation’s border, Road 96, to escape poverty, violence, and the increasingly unstable regime of President Tyrak. Along the way, their stories intersect with a strange cast of recurring characters: a reckless criminal duo, a famous TV host hiding dark secrets, a gifted young hacker, a mysterious truck driver, and a dangerous taxi driver haunted by tragedy. As protests, corruption, and political unrest spread across the country, the journeys of these teens slowly connect to a larger conflict that could decide Petria’s future.
