The Punchline follows Danny Kessler, a stand-up comic who joins the writers room of a struggling New York late night show in 1962. Driven by a compulsive need to make the people around him feel better, even at his own expense, Danny becomes the kind of man everyone loves and almost no one really knows. As the show, the city, and comedy itself change around him, Danny's gift for fixing everyone else's pain with a joke slowly costs him the people closest to him. This show is character driven, which means it likely wont get the same amount of attraction as The Line, and will be deemed bad. It all depends on my writing quality and if I can keep it consistent.
