Created by Cherigui Altaïr

The historical Algeria national team goalkeeper played in the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. A graduate of the Olympique de Marseille academy, he played professionally for Olympique de Marseille (B) (France), Hearts (Scotland), Ethnikos Piraeus (Greece), Panetolikos (Greece), Tatran Prešov (Slovakia), Slavia Sofia (Bulgaria), CSKA Sofia (Bulgaria), Krylia Sovetov Samara (Russia), Stade Rennais (B) (France), Philadelphia Union (USA), Antalyaspor (Turkey), Stade Rennais (first team) (France), Al-Ettifaq (Saudi Arabia), Al-Qadisiyah (Saudi Arabia), CR Belouizdad (Algeria), and ES Mostaganem (Algeria). He came close to joining Manchester United prior to the 2010 World Cup at the request of Sir Alex Ferguson following a trial period, though the stint did not result in a contract. His most significant honors include the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2021 Arab Cup, as well as the Golden Glove awards for both tournaments. His lack of greater success at the club level is attributed to his non-European status—a common issue for African goalkeepers, with few exceptions.
