Salah Assad

A member of Algeria's first "Golden Generation" and the creator of the "Ghorraf" move, he participated in the 1982 World Cup and witnessed the national team's elimination amidst the "Disgrace of Gijón" scandal. He earned praise from Beckenbauer, was named by the Brazilian legend Pelé as one of the world's top 10 players, and was selected as the best winger of the 1982 World Cup; he also played for the French clubs Paris Saint-Germain and Mulhouse.
